Preventing Hot Tray Burns in Kids

A number of mild burns happen when parents take a tray or pan out of the oven and set it on the counter. A curious child, wanting to see how the cookies turned out, then proceeds to grab the tray. Remind your kids that such things stay hot long after they are removed from the oven. Consider setting such items on the far end of the stove-top as opposed to the counter, where it is more out of reach and less likely to be grabbed by little fingers. Learn about other safety issues by reading our online Child Safety Book.
